Our story
How it started
Lux & Lax Housing was founded in 2022 by Kynnée Golder, alongside her college best friend, Sanjay Monroe. The two met while earning their Bachelor of Science degrees at North Carolina A&T, but their story starts earlier, in Baltimore, Maryland, where they both grew up. There, they saw firsthand how unsafe, poorly kept housing can hold families and whole neighborhoods back.
That stayed with them. As transitions take place, as life will do, it was decided Kynnée would carry on the Legacy that they started together with shared homes that are clean, comfortable, and well cared for, at a price people can actually afford. The name says it all. Lux for a touch of luxury, and Lax for a relaxed, easy place to come home to.
Today, Kynnée leads Lux & Lax Housing, with homes in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Clayton, North Carolina. Every home added serves the same goal: comfort that fits your budget, in a community you are proud to be part of.
